I am going to be heading down to Pottsville to camp for a few days and have done little fishing in the area. Just wondering whether anyone can pass on some tips, techniques, locations etc. You don't have to give aware any closely guarded secret spots but some general help would be appreciated. Anticipating that I will do some fishing in Mooball Ck and in the surrounding surf beaches.
Any help would be much appreciated.

One fairly specific spot is the bridge over the creek itself. You need some live yabbies and a high tide at night. Fish across the turn of the tide under the bridge. Rig a running sinker just large enough to hold the bottom with a long trace (about 2m) leading to your yabby. Lower this rig off the bridge so that the yabby floats back under the bridge around the piles. Avoid shining any lights in the water and try to be as quiet as you can. You can pick up some lovely bream doing this and there is also the odd flathead and luderick at times too.

Biiiiig trevally up the creek{strip bait}, only at night , awesome muddies too.
Some sick whiting{salted pipis} in the gutters to blacky and tailor{ganged pillies} a bit deeper.
Both types of bonito{watsons leaping and australian} on slugs on dusk/dawn with the odd doggie.
ballooned livies a few times for no result .

Thanks everyone for your input. It gives me a few good ideas to try and catch a few.
Does anyone know the process on getting a 4WD beach permit for the Pottsville area - cost etc.
Cheers
Nathan
Nathan you cant get a beach permit any more un less you have a disabiklity that stop you from walking on the beach, and you wouldn't want to buy one if you could any way because they cost $210per year and you can only drive on a couple of klms of beach. i know damn sure i wont be getting mine renewed next year
cheers hazy

Thanks Hazy. I think I will give that permit a miss and stick to walking. The extra walking will probably do me good!!
