Landbased Squire??

Do any of you brissie guys know of any landbased spots that would produse for Squire? I would love to catch one and of course i dont have a boat so im quite limited. any help is appreciated... thanks.

Nabs, I have caught a few good squire at the reef just 100m from the Margate boat ramp.
Now if you were good with a beach rod and an alvey, and had a good arm then you could get something out there.

Im not saying it would be easy....but it would be possible. And yes, you might be able to catch a squire.

at woody point myself and some other people have caught some squire at legal size and over

I have only ever got one land based and it wasn't legal (20cm). it was caught at pelcan park clontarf on whitebait. Have fished the spot many times and never seen one so i don't think it happens much.. Heard that some people have been catching them around dolies rocks somewhere but can't help you on that!!

After a big blow, fish the breakwalls Seaway, Tweed, Richmond, Clarence.

They come in after the cunji and crabs smashed off the rocks

You also can get mid sized sweeties there as well... Plus flatties, bream, whiting, cod (occasionally) tailor, grinner ;D

my personal best is 5 pounds land based at redcliffe somewhere two years back but i reguarly catch a feed of legal squire tailor and bream with the odd flathead and cod one night i caught 18 fish in 1.5 hours mostly tailor but around 5 squire. they are there and plenty of other places also you will have to put in the hours like the ten percenters
