Havent fished here in a while. Gonna give it a go on Saturday i think, any good fish being caught off there? I'm not sure whether to target dart, whiting, bream or go for flathead, jew or whatever pelagics you get around there. Any tips would be appreciated.

Cheers

Havent been there in a month but last time i went there were schools of rat kingies up the end. They would only follow my 5" tsunami up but wouldnt hit it. Try throwing heavy slugs off the end. If its dart whiting or bream your chasing stay down the front of the jetty in the wash, fish light with fresh bait like beach worms or pipis.

I've been out on it a few times, but to be honest, I get just as good or better results walking the beach and locating a good gutter. At least you don't have to worry about a bust off hauling it off the water so far

Are you sure they were rat Kingies? I also thought that is what I had caught till I got it up. They were salmon. I have never caught them before but the first one did acrobatics that must have been learnt from a barra that took the wrong turn at Inisfail. Every time we came down we caught the salmon. very dry flesh average soup................not like flathead bone soup. ::) ::) ::) :) I now take a digital camera with me to record the Happy moments ;)
