In my opinion the prawns (ie. banana prawns on the gold coast) school up best on the smaller tides leading up to the full moon, and are best caught on a run out tide, or the first hour or two of a run in tide. for banana prawns day (dawn and dusk) seems to be most popular.

After buying a casting net to catch fresh bait I have found prawns to be in abundance ie 4 or 5 per cast. Just after dark on small tides and on well light jetty. :)

i just go on low tides and dont even bother
about looking at the moon times. i have always
done well and at anytime in the day. fresh water
has more to do with it imo.
cheers dale

Rando, I was in the broadwater area on the Gold Coast early morning.
