G'day
My name's Dave and I'm a soft plastics convert. Haha sorry but just had a good day on just using these funky little things. Pretty impressed and after trying to land quality consistent snapper at green on bait for last year, think i'll try the softies this year on the reefs aswell. There's a report in saltwater estuary..

Onya Dave,

now the trick is to keep the bait at the bait shop, take nothing but plastics with you and you have to use them

Cheers

Yep

You started by sounding like a drunkard turning up for his 1st AA's meeting, but guess what? This is another "ISM" of sorts there is no cure for. :D

My only advice is to resist buying every colour you think might do the trick, but ask the guys here which are the most successful colours/patterns and keep to only half dozen.... Yoda would say " Control.... control it you must."

Otherwise what ends up happening is you spend more time changing J'H's and placcies than having your line in the water...

Best of luck,
Scalem

G'day
Haha yeh, thanx. I was going for an aa kinda introduction. I'll be sticking to set colours and sizes and patterns for estuary and another set for reef, probally 4 choices for each? Should be on for young and old

I am looking forward to seeing the results. Basically, I think the deeper the water the brighter the colours. Chartreause is as bright as you can get I suppose, I have attached a photo of some of my fav's ( which did not do so well at Hervey Bay, falling victim to some toothy critters, but that's another story) ;)
The snapbacks would have to be one of the 4 choices I would make, they just last infinitely longer, but there is a trick to these you will have to PM me if interested.

The two I would not do without are top left (chartreause) , and the pearl white Berkley 5" Minow under the top left. A mate of mine used only the Pearl white all day, and out fished the other two people including the skipper and ME ;D ;D

hey mate...
ive just turned to plastics aswel... though not for snapper and reefies but more bream and flathead... i had a prety gud first expreince with them and i think thats y ive used them since... and also it helps to have a mate with alot of expreince in the past with them teaching you on the retreives and types of sp's to use...
cheers, troy
