Fish ID in Botany Bay 18-04-06

Hi all,

Caught this pretty little fishy in Botany Bay yesterday.

It was 18cm long very slimy, smooth and soft, any ideas? I thought it was a baby dolphin fish at first.

Parrot fish and very good eating at legal size.

Venus tuskfish, Choerodon venustus. Commonly called Parrot fish.

As far as I know there is no legal size limit in N.S.W.

Has be one of the best eating fish there is.
