When fishing for blueys I have listened a lot over the years and tried numerous methods and think I am finally getting things down pat. I have a few things I would like to share and would be happy to hear any feedback or ideas.
Use a hand line only. Never use line above 50lb and only a 5/0 hook. Use blue claw crabs as bait but feed the claw (cut into sections) onto the hook first and then a whole crab. Most catches have been on the second "hit" on the claw. Fish only the last 2 or 3 hours of the run out tide when they leave the shallows and head for deeper water. When you feel a bite, don't pull, wait for the fish to drift back with the current and then pull like blazes when you feel the weight.
I could never catch them but by following the above I at least catch them on a regular basis now.
I would appreciate any comments/ideas/feedback.
Cheers
Rob
