Hi
I will be staying at Dicky Beach this week and was wondering about the landbased fishing options around this area.
I was thinking of trying off the beach (are dart, whiting, bream an option?). I was also going to give Currumundi Lake a go with the SP's but I would welcome any other suggested locations and species to target.

Chris

G'day
Both those options are ok, although most of the time the lake is not flushed by the sea, so the water there is pretty tannin stained. If I were you, shoot over to the passage and walk along bulcock beach and golden beach. Plenty of options there and heaps of rock walls and the like in towards pelican waters and millitary jetty. Go even further and walk the banks of bells creek. Just near the boat ramp there you can get across the small creek that is there. Do this, follow the northern bank and there's some great structure in there.
Dave.

Chris,
you might be surprised what you can catch in Currimundi lake. Give Rob Lawes a call, he is a local and should be able to point you in the right direction.

I've caught plenty of small bream out of the back waters of the lake fishing with bread, and there's definitely some bigger fish out the back, they occasionally push the bait against the wall and start smashing them. Definitely worth a look while you're out there. I'd also try the softies off golden beach for flathead and at night off bulcock beach I've caught pike before. Hope this helps.
