On the weekend me and my family went to Hervey Bay. Firstly i would like to say the place is awsumm i loved it. Any way i caught a nice 25cm whiting and a 26cm pike on lure ; first pike on lure. There were heaps of Mac Tuna swimming in schools. I am going back there in 2 weeks time and will be fishing at Urangan Jetty again can any body give me any info about how to catch the following.
Mac Tuna
Tiger Shark

Pike and whiting to tiger sharks - now that's some graduation.
Jpart, I know they do get fish off the jetty there and some big stuff at times like mackerel, turrum, gts, goldens and plenty of tuna. Casting slugs could be worth a dig and live baiting under balloons a good option. Other people on this site will be able to provide better info than I can though.

most tuna i've caught off there have been at first light.....don't know why. Live baits are better, but have got them on floating pillies. for sharks and ray a big slab bait, filleted or whole, or whole squid, should do the job.

Yes mate it would be a good idea if you got in touch with( Big Unit). He might be able to loan you a drum line that you could tie to the hand rail of the jetty . If you do catch anything big make sure you put some photos on for us. :) :) :) Bob.
