Hi Hirdy,
I mix up chooks pellets, fish pellets, tuna oil, red bait oil, bread, rice and minced up fish, I make a big drum up then bag it up for freezing. Works a treat here for bottom bashing..cheers ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I usually chop up small peices of pillies and disperse them in small amounts quite frequently.

most simple effective method, old bottle (cordial, that sorta thing) few holes in the sides and bottom,
3 hand fulls of chicken pellets which u can get from the animal produce place (which is a hell lot cheaper then from other places)
tie a rope on the handle and chuck it over so that it is about halfway in the water.
not only cheap but works a treat. ;)

Should we be berlying heavily if we are in a kayak? Does this increase the risk of shark attack? Cheers G.

I use a Berkley Berley Bomb. it works a treat. Just use old pillies or other bait which has gone soft, cut it up fine, put in the bomb, drop over the side and when it hits the bottom, the side of it opens up and releases the contents, pull the bomb up and back into the boat.
Do that about every half an hour just to keep the fish interested.
If the current or tide is running where you are fishing, use a heavier weight or #your berley ends up past your bait.
Cheers
Geoff
