Hi all

I am thinking of going up north for a bit of a fish and camp this weekend and was just after a bit of advice on a couple of proposed spots. First place we were thinkng was the Mary River near Maryborough. Any reports on what this is like and what types of fish we could expect?

If we don't go there, I was thinking of going a bit further north to Woodgate and having a crack at theodolite creek and the burrum river. Any reports on these two?

Thanks for the help

Cheers

Brendan

Brenden. The Mary has been fishing realy well for thread fin salmon recently, they are being caught the entire length of the river. If you can find your way to Beaver Rock boat ramp there is good fishing upstream and if you go down the river it is about 10ks to the mouth, to the left just inside the heads is the Susan river which has also been fishing well. If your in Maryborough itself a lot of thread fin are being caught off the Granville bridge at night. Good catches at the Lamington bridge also but has signs to say no fishing off bridge. What the locals do here is put there boats in at the ramp beside the bridge and anchor away a bit so that they can float baits back into the area where the bridge lights create a shadow, working the bait a couple of mt into the shadow and back a few mt into the light. If you fish off the Granville bridge you will need lifting gear to get your fish up. The advantage of fishing off the bridge is that you can walk along trying differenf areas, but the boat method also works here also. :) :) Bob.

Beautiful thanks Bob. Threadfin sounds good to me.
