My Father in law tried to teach me unsuccessfuly for ages how to throw a cast net with the 'over the shoulder' method.

I watched the video of the "underhand' method, went outside and tried it and got it straight away!

They a great learning tool and were a gateway to me beginning to read this forum.

Thanks Ausfish!!!

Cheers

You can watch a video on how it's done plenty of times, however your better off watching someone throw it in front of you, that knows what there doing.
I've watched a couple of people and had a go #::) it's not easy but a lot of practice does help #8-) Even if you look like your triyng to throw a fresh cow pat some distance with one hand ?? #;) #;D
You have to give it a go :)

I throw it the same way as the 1st Video ( no wet shoulders), but was worried I would find a bigger net too heavy. I met Dave Downie and Bob the Netmaker who let me try a larger net to find it was not as big a deal as I thought. It helps to have a good quality net though.

Anyone living on the south side around Logan are welcome to pop in for some help if you can't figure it out. ;)

Thanks. Interesting to see that they have used my copyrighted material.

I have sent them an E-mail ;D

Original videos are at http://www.ausfish.com.au/castnet/ they were put up there in October 2001. I put the website address on them a few months back to stop people stealing them. Get sick of people stealing stuff off the site, pics, videos, fish artwork, directory listings, you name it people seem to think it is fair game if it is on the net. Or think it is fine to use other peoples websites/businesses to promote their own.

I'll get off my soap box now, just can't stand theives or spammers.
