G day mate,

Palmy and mermaid reef fish well during the warmer months through to April for Spotties... Also produce quite a few cobia and I have also 'hooked' a small bill!

T-roy and zach mentioned that they caught a few jelly bean tuna and tailor the other day...

I also got a 52cm snappa on a hardboddy and zach got a little 52cm kingfish and alot of the other boats have been getting cobia.

Last summer I got the biggest lazyest ray I have ecer seen. It had to be 6' across and where the tail come out of the body it was as thick as my arm. The funny thing was it had my fight in it so I had to dead lift it to the surface, when I cut the line it just swam off as if nothing happend spose being that big just aswell it did not take off or I would of been water sking along the breakers off Palmy

Spotties and spanish macks in summer . Cobes in season . They can pop up anytime as well .
School shark run late summer .
Livies and other vermin undersize stuff including squire almost anytime .
Tailor sometimes .
Bream and tarwine .
Occasional legal squire and spangled emperor will come along .
Mack tuna and other tunas .
Me personally I only fish macks and cobes or get bait here . The bottom species are mainly by-catch for me . Hope this helps .

kewl,

thanks for the tips guys,
do you know if its worth bottom bashing for squire etc out there though or is it too inconsistent and better off targeting the pelagics

I would focus on pelagics...

There are squire... Maybe it would be worth jigging plastics while you leave a floater out the back!

In the summer months and when the macks are on... it is not uncommon for that reef to turn into a supermarket car park...

Maybe I'll see you out there one day!
