i have had success fishing from the rockwall back towards the beach. We have taken some nice flathead about half way along the rock wall. using soft plastics has also worked for us but you have to make sure that the jig head is not too heavy. Probably 1/4 oz max as there are a lot of rocks to avoid. We use Berkley 4" stick baites. we have had success on the light pink and the glow scales colour. It was particularly effective at dusk. I have seen other fisherman take small sharks on pilchards and others try for bream on squid and prawns as well as small hard bodied lure with mixed success.
Good luck. G.

Well I am a happy lil' camper...if a little sunburnt!

I used prawns for a while and got nothing but a few small bream...but I was seeing flashes in the water around the schools of baitfish, not to mention a 80-90cm flathead cruising along in the shallows...I have had some SP's for a while but never really had a go at using them, so I thought why not give them a crack!

"Borrowed" the wifes' spinning rod and sent out a Pumpkin Seed Berkley Minnow...2nd cast...bang a Small Tailor...I was hooked then! Threw him back...and then bang another one over the 35cm mark! I would have caught more but I was getting hungry...but I think I will give the SP's a bit more of a wurl when I go to Straddie this w/end...kinda fun.

I've heard rumours that the pink ones work well on tailor...anyone know if there is any truth to that??

Cheers

Plenty of pike at the end of the wall - just use a bait jig. Then float one out as a livie.
