Hi all, am heading to Baffle this weekend, staying at Boaga, would appreciate any tips etc for a first timer to the area as well as a rather nervous skipper, only just got my first tinny, TIA.

Baffle is very shallow with hidden snags and sand bars so be carefull. Not trying to make you more nervous, it is a top spot and quite safe as long as you watch where your going. I like to fish the mouth for flathead myself. Was there about a month ago and did quite well on the sand flats at the mouth. Just take it easy untill you know where the sand bars are.

Have a good one

The Baffle is an excellent river(no upstream dams) with good catches of whiting and flathead down on the flats and excellent jack further upstream. You'll also catch trevalley and queenfish down near the mouth. As mentioned in other posts it can rather shallow in places with plenty of sandbars down towards the mouth and there are some tricky rockbars upstream. But take it easy and you should enjoy yourself. Also don't forget the pots as they get some good mud crabs in the river.
