I have come across some software than can actually view and display navionics gold and platinum cards on your pc.
The program is called PCplotter and the site is http://www.pcplotter.com/index.htm
I have attached a jpg of a screen capture (low quality) the original is excellent. You can download a demo to try. But you can't load your own maps without a security key.

The program is pricy, but looks excellent. Not sure about all the features but seems to interface with many types of GPS.

Worth a look

Frank,
Do you use a standard card reader to load the navionics charts onto your computer, and by doing this will you stuff the card so it wont reader in the lowrance chart plotter??
Looks like a very good way to keep ones waypoints, routes and charts all upto date, though.

Cheers

I don't know more than I have read, but it seems that it is just a card reader. One of the nice things is you can print the charts, or whichever parts you want, zoomed to any level, with your routes, tracks and waypoints. You can also create new waypoints directly on the chart display and save them back to youre GPS.

It seems to be a Navionics supported application, just the same as any GPS plotter, but on your PC.

I think.

I have never seen software on the Lowrance site that reads Navionics charts. I'm interested.
The only thing I've seen is GDM6 and as far as I can see that just has a basemap, but it doesn't allow you to load navionics charts, but maybe I'm missing something.

Which program is it?
