When I had dramas with my unit droping out they insisted that I send both the receiver and the head unit to them. Are they insisting that you only send either the head unit or the receiver not both to them?Did the person that hooked up your unit conect the receiver to it's own power supply,I know it drove me mad till I worked out the new ones are not like the old receivers that just pluged straight in.

Hi Maxi,
I just fitted a 3500 to a brand new Freedom Seasport 640. 2nd time out I got a "GPS module not responding" message. Power was OK but not reading anything from the antenna. Was Night time so difficult to trouble shoot. Next morning I fiddled around with the connections and wiring and it then worked. Must have been a loose wire! Other than that I am very happy with it.
Anyway, I live in the Caloundra area but am overseas at the moment at work. Won't be back for a couple of weeks, if you are still having trouble send me a PM and you are welcome to come around and sort it out.
Scotty.
Thanks Guys,
I took the boat up to BCF at maroochydore yesterday and they were unreal. I didn't even purchase the unit there and they spent an hour with me in the carpark trying to find the problem. In the end they connected a brand new unit up on the dash with a small battery and we finally worked out that the reciever module and the T-piece connector are both RS. Hopefully now Lowrance will send me the new parts and all will be good.

That was good of BCF. I hope you get it sorted Greg.
Have you connected a fuel transducer to your unit? Wondering if they are any good.
I have not fitted a fuel transducer but sure am interested in finding out how they perform
