Hi all,
I am very interested in getting members feedback on which current electronic charts they are using.
I have looked at Navionics, Blue charts and C-Max.
There is so much info out there that chosing is confusing at best. :-[
Any feedback from the actual users would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
Joe, I have the Garmin Bluechart and the Navionics Gold. The Navionics gives a lot more detail than the Garmin. You get more Reefs, Contour lines, and detail. The Bluechart is used on the home PC for entering waypoints,Routes & trails. Have the Navionics in my Lowrance sounder and this is where I found the differences between the two. These are the only 2 I have seen and used.

G'Day Joe,
yeah sure is confusing eh. Best thing I did was go to a dealer that had each of the charts setup. Trimax Marine at Capalaba had a good setup, I had the guys show me each chart of the same area, very easy to compare like this and easy to play with each of the plotters too.
At the time I chose the Navionics, I reckon it gave better detail in the areas that I normally fish, plus I was used to the Lowrance menus too.
I believe Lowrance has new charts out now, the interesting one for us covers NZ and AUS at a cost of around ($199??) Not sure on the detail but worth a look. They where on a post here a while ago and I think there is a demo version on the Lowrance site.
Cheers,
Tony 8-)
PS the guys at Trimax where very helpful too ;)

Thanks Tony and Dave,
A group of us are planning a Cooktown trip for Oct this year.
Does the Navionic chart show the new fishing zones? ie green, yellow etc?
I have also read a bit on the C- MAX charts that have Gardinan Technology which sounds interesting.
Thanks for you feedback, Tony I will look into the Trimax lead.
