Getting some work done on the boat putting new gps, sounder and vhf in a Trailcraft. Only access to the floor is through 2 inspection ports on the deck and one on the transom. Sounds like it will be a tricky job trying to get enough access to run the tranducer lead to the head unit. Anyone had to do this before or have any suggestions. Thanks.

G'day
Run your wiring inside some loom tube under the gunnel. Dont forget to run the transducer cable on the opposite side to prevent inteferance.

Thanks Dave, sounds like a good option. Being a centre console I guess the cable/tubing would have to run over the deck at some point to get to the console from the gunnel?

Cam,
Suggest you check your existing wiring loom where it exits the floor under the Console for a pull line. Most good builders will leave one there for just this eventuality.
Plan B is to cut an existing wire & attach a pull line to it. Will only work if the selected wire is not attached to ribs, etc.
Plan C is to phone Trailcraft & request advice.

G'day Cam
Being a centre console then disregard what i had said. I wasn't aware of your setup. There will be however a place where the existing loom of steering, throttle cables and wiring is currently running to the back of the boat. Some of the centre consoles these days have the battery in the bottom shelf of the console, so this may be that little bit easier for you. failing that just get in contact with trailcraft or one of their dealers who do the fitup.
