A new member looking for some help. Can anyone give me some advice on whether locating a Navman 4350 sounder flush mount into the dash less than the recommended 1.2m from my 27meg radio aerial and 400mm from the radio itself will cause any interference problems for either unit.
I've just found out the original position I mounted the sounder under a Navman 5340i tracker on the right side of the dash causes the loss of all satellite signals to the GPS when the sounder is on. Must be the sounder screen interfering?
New location would centre dash 500-600mm from the GPS. Also the main feed busbar on the back of the dash will only be 100mm from the back of the sounder. Any problems with that?
Seems as though if you abide by all the clearance distances for the radio, sounder, GPS etc. you would have them spread all over the boat.
I have a 4 metre runabout. Funny, no mention of keeping the tracker and sounder apart in the Navman manuals.
