All,

I have just received my brand new GPS (Garmin 292) - and want some hints on how best to protect the unit form general wear and tear - especially protecting the screen from scratches, etc..

And, are there better external antennas out there that perform better that the ones supplied with the GPS units?
If so, what is the best type, etc..??

Regards

I use a PDA clear screen protector on my GPS screen. Can be bought from places like Harvey Norman, Computer stores, ebay etc.

Cheers,
Wardy.

What ever you do, DO NOT use any ammonia based cleaner on any electronics screens. It will damage the coatings on the screen.

Never use any cleaning products ... if not already supplied, get a soft microfibre cloth that is designed for screens like that.

Harvey Norman should point you in the right direction.
