VHF radio install question

HI All,

On my VHF radio there is three cables coming out the back. One is power, the other is the aerial, and the third??????

depends on how old it is and the make the third could be to interface with GPS or Fishfinder

chances are you will have red and black for pos and neg, and an RF ground which will most propbably be just a silver wire.

Well I would have thought the make/model of VHF would have been an essential requirement for a start?
