Hi Crew,
I might as well join the party. I'm off to Turkey Beach (south of Gladstone) for this years Easter Fish-a-thon.
I'll be staying with a mate, whose parents own a holiday house 150 metres from the Boat Ramp.
The fishing opportunities up there are endless. Fish the creeks and Estuary for Cod, Whiting, Flathead, Salmon etc (I know there are Jacks and Barra as well if you know what your doing). Target Macks and Tuna in Rods harbour and the 'Heads' area, then there is reef fishing around the close Bommies and Offshore (I know Lucky-Phil has sampled what this place has to offer).
The weather will dictate our game plan. Will be packing in the Crab Pots as this Estuary is surrounded by Mangrove Forest and is a Mud Crabbers dream.
This trip we will only be taking a couple of smallish tinnies (3.7m and 4.6m) so we may not venture too far.
Full report when I return.
Have a great Easter,
Cheers
Craig.
