Will be in Cairns for a few days (for work) next week. Any suggestions on where / what / how to fish. Probably will be restricted to shore due to time restrictions. If time allows might try a charter??

Cheers

Gday
I too travel to Cairns on Business and each time I do I somehow find time for line-wetting.
I have found the best guide for Barra-estuary type fishing to be John from Paradise Sport fishing.
He is a canadian guide that has lived in Cairns a long time and lives to fish. Th e good thing is he seems to be better prepared than the other three charters i have used for this type of fishing and seems to locate lots of fish. He is around $70 for a half day. ( same as the others ) If you are limited on time this is a good option and John is a good bloke. Hope this helps

Thanks BFWB,
I'll do my best to drag myself away from work and give John a try!

Paradise sportfishing used to be owned by one of my good mates dads. The boats that they have are really well set up for estury fishing.
You after estury or offshore blue? If after some reef fishing, try aquacat. Been out a couple of times with them, always put you onto a decent run of fish.

Thanks Dr Dan,
with such "family connections" you couldn't get me a discount could you?!? ;D
I'm keen to try estuary & offshore - all depending on time (non-working :P), weather etc...
