Redspeckle,

You may get lucky as it seems to be getting better from Sunday evening onwards. Have a good one.

I have fished a wreck that is a few miles past the measured mile and pretty much straight out the channel from the brisbane river. Is that the Captain Nelson? I have been trying for ages to find the mark. Know lots about it. Is just the wheelhouse of the dredge Kaptajn Nielsen, wrecked 18 September 1964, 33 drowned and 15 survived. One of the crew apparently stripped naked and swam to Tangalooma to raise the alert. About the only thing I don't know is the exact location. Anyone feeling generous I would be very grateful for a PM.

By the way, what is the greasy hole near Mud? Have recently seen it mentioned in reports.

The marks for the Captain Neilson seem to be a closely-guarded secret, although to get on it on weekends and in fishing comps, you almost have to book well in advance. It's heartbreaking to drive up there all the way from Manly (35km trip) only to find 6 boats on or around it. I went up there 1 afternoon and got on it as I was first there. A short while later, another boat arrived and sat level with me about 30m East. We fished and chatted harmoniously all evening and both boats caught fish. However, a subtle line of enquiry was started from the other boat as to how I got the marks and how long I'd been fishing that spot. It was all in good humour. The only downside was when a big tin boat with 2 men and 2 trophy wives came over and decided to sound around where we were fishing. They decided to head home when the welcome mat was retracted in no uncertain terms. Hope you can get the marks off someone.

Cheers,
BIGNICK.

Hey Red,,

Just checked the forcast again and not looking that good for tonight. Seems a bit worse rather than better than it was looking a few days ago. Tuesday and Wednesday are looking great though.
