Hi all,

Just a question..... My partner is highly allergic to midgies and comes up with big welts. We cannot seem to find anything that will repell them. Rid does nothing and i really enjoy camping but can't seem to find anywhere where there are no midgies. Does anyone have any remedy ???

Hey snakecatcher,

Thanks for that link, my partner has tried a few of those and doesn't seem to work but there is a couple of them that she hasn't. We will have to give them a go.
Thanks again for the help
Cheers

Bushmans is hard to beat! You just need to make sure you are covering all exposed areas properly!

Not sure about a 100% repellent but I can tell you that my hubby gets slaughtered when we are out and I always keep a bottle of lavender (Eureka brand from the supermarket it is water dispersable) with me, put this straight onto the bites, it seems to stop him from itching and coming up in those horrible welts.

not what you asked for but hope it helps all the same

Hairdresser was telling me that she uses PINETARSOL to take the itch out of insect bites
Claimed it also works on her children to stop itch of chickenpox and helps her dermatitis

Not what you asked but it may be worth a try as a repellant
