G'day all

We have sent an email to Von at Stanage Bay to check on dates for the May Day long weekend. 8-) We enquired about the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday nights. :)

As soon as we get some word back on availability, prices etc I will through another post up. In the meantime, sharpen the gaffs, mend the crabpots, and get ready!!!!! ;)

Cheers to all
Dave and Sue

We have received word back from Von and co at Stanage. Unfortunitely the place is completely booked for the May Day long weekend. :( The only place suggested was the camp ground opposite the bait and tackle shop, but this only has toilet facilities and you must bring everything else including water. :-/ There is also no guarantee that others may be using that area at the same time. :'(

It would seem that Stanage is not a real option for this excursion.

I considered looking at availability at Round Hill caravan park or even a house but I am sure all will be heavily booked at this late stage. [smiley=cool4.gif]

So.............. if we would all like to go to a really beautiful place, with a great beach, safe anchorage, firewood, peace and quiet, free, and with few other (if any) campers, I would strongly suggest we go back to Hummock Hill Island. [smiley=beer.gif] I don't know of anywhere else in this beautiful part of the world where we can enjoy ourselves so much and have the place virtually to ourselves than the island. [smiley=drunk.gif]

We could run the same routine as last time...............0700hrs at Caltex Boyne River on Saturday 29th April and move on from there. [smiley=happy.gif]

The ladies now have a respectable sort of a toilet, [smiley=gorgeous.gif]we can rig up some u beaut shower facilities, [smiley=bath.gif] we have safe parking at Dean's [smiley=policeman.gif] (if he hasn't sold the house!) and this time we could target the toothy critters around Jenny Lind and the shipping channel. [smiley=laola.gif]

So what do you all say? Aye or nay? [smiley=gossip.gif]

Susan and I would certainly love to go there with you all. [smiley=heart.gif]

Cheers
Dave

We have received news at Easter that Suzi's Mum has an incurable cancer and probably won't have much time. We will not be going camping on the May Day long weekend now so perhaps someone else might like to pick up the organising.

Thanks
Dave

Dave and Sue,

Sorry to hear that Sue, we will also be busy - as previously discussed - and will be unable to attend the May long weekend.

Will catch up with you guys soon.

Dave,
Sorry to hear about Suzi's mum.
Please pass on my regards.
Having been through the same thing twice I know how difficult the time ahead can be :(
My heart goes out to your whole family.

cheers,
Owen

Thanks for the kind words and your thoughts. They do mean a lot especially to Suzi at this time. Bay Firery has said that he will not be going on the May Day long weekend either, so I guess this thread should die a natural death.

I'll leave it up for a couple more days and then ask the Mods to remove it.

Cheers to you all
Dave
