Thanks guys,
Practicing for the Tuna comps, by chasing other species seems to be working.
Hervey Bay Comp....we caught Golden Trevally,Queenfish,
Dart,Spotted Mackerel and I had a small
Black Marlin about 35kg on for 1 1/2
hours, before it wore through the leader
beside the boat.
-1st place.
-2nd place.
-champion team overall.
Mooloolaba Comp....see photos and we also caught a heap of
Longtail Tuna, in Hervey Bay.We even
had a couple of triple hook ups, that was
mayhem.
-1st place.
-4th place.
-champion team.
Now for the Bribie Tuna Comp, the system seems to be working. So any ideas on where to go and what to chase will be considered?
thanks.....Shawn ;D

How about practising in some wind ;D Im told the waverider has plenty of 2-4 kilo dolphin hanging round it atm, the current runs up to 4knots out there, would be a challenge ;)

Thanks Mack,
Might have to wait until the weather settles down a bit.Perfect conditions at the moment, :'( :'( http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm14.gif a strong wind warning is current, 20/30 knots and swells to 3 metres.
cheers........Shawn.

Because it's blowin' it's ring off still - I'm thinking maybe a $2 coin with a hole in it. Head down to the local skate bowl. Drop a cast to the side or general area - small strips, see the take and hang on ;D
Gaff optional :D

I like it, but can I gaff them and still throw them back? ;D

Why not go catch jet skiers, not allowed to throw them back . noxious species.

Great sequence of shots. A dirty fighting golden.
Looks like Little Woody. The conditions look great. Sure beats 20 knot winds and chop.
Sight-fishing for Golden is greate fun. I didn't get up to Hervey Bay much this summer. Maybe next year.
