I believe the rule in Queensland is anything under 2kg and it's a squire, between 2-4kg it's a snappery squire and above 4kg we are talking SNAPPER!

Hope this helps

Cheers
Paul :)

ahhhhh the eternal $6 billion dollar question....... when does a squire become a snapper???????????????? :-? :-/

Man will argue that point for ever and ever. No two fisher people will ever agree I think ;D

Heya Jimmybob

The species is a snapper so if that's what you want to call it regardless of size it's a snapper ;D

Squire is a Queensland colloquial name refering to smaller snapper and just to muddy the waters even further you will also hear people talk of snappery squire and squirey snapper with some blokes even suggesting a squire is anything less than 5 kg ::) The old rule of thumb was around 3lb or less a squire over 3 lb a snapper, so yours qualifies.
