Hi all I just joined today. I think this is a really great site.
Thought I'd share a couple of pics from my last trip. This is a "redfish" aka red drum aka spot tail aka channel bass sorry don't know the latin name.
This is all the same fish photoghaphed by my fishing partner as I caught it.

And there he is. A nice spot tail. All fish we caught this day were returned to the water as soon as we snapped a few pics. They get much larger but move into the ocean when mature.
This one weighed about 12 to 14 pounds but they get to be about 50 pounds when fully grown.
We were using cut mullet for bait.

That freight train description is very accurate. I have used it many times my self.
As far as the ambassador, I like the way they cast.

These spot tails have a slot limet. We can only keep 2 between 14 to 24 inchs.

Nice fish Doug good to see fish from other parts of the world. looks like it may be a relative of our Jewfish. Andrew.
