Sailfish on 6kg Line

Everything came together just right for this fish. We were trolling the Trench with a mixed spread out when I saw this Sail appear behind a plain green pusher on 6kg line. Sails are notorius for hooking on lures so it was lucky I saw this one to speed up and make it more aggresive then accelerate the boat once hooked up to set the hooks. I have never seen a fish dump the amount of line this fish did and at speed it did. Boat was my fifteen footer and decky for the day was Drifter. To those that know Drifter you can see where I am coming from when I say everything came together just right. The fish was tagged and released.

The Trench is between Cape Moreton and Bribie roundabouts off Brisbane.
