The blue "New" icon.

After I've read a particular post, I thought the "New" icon was supposed to disappear.

Am I wide of the mark here in believing this? If I am mistaken (and that doesn't happen very often, according to wife), how do I get the icon to disappear?

TOL try hitting the F5 button to refresh the page and see if it disappears then. If you are hitting the back button on the toolbar it will take you back to the way the page was displayed before.
