Hey there Steve
Why don't you implement standard board functionaoity with your topic move, that is, when a user clicks on a moved topic, it takes them to the topic in that new location. Nothing more annoying than a dead-end link.

The reason it happens sometimes is because there is a bug in the chat board script. Sometimes when posts are moved they can not be viewed.
If you could point out the ones you are having trouble with I will be more than happy to fix them for you.

Steve, I think he means when you click on the original post where it was before it was moved, it should redirect you to the new one.

It does.
You go to the original post and it says it was moved to the x section.
Just click on the link and it takes you to the post.
Example of the text you would see in a moved post.
This topic has been moved to Tackle & Accessories Chat by Ausfish.
You then click on link, Tackle & Accessories Chat, and it will take you to the post.

Heres an example Steve
when you click on "Moved: Old Modern Fishing Mags and Seacraft Mags"
you should end up in the for sale section

When you click on that link it takes you to the original post, then just click on the link in the post - "For Sale or Trade/Swap" in the text
"This topic has been moved to For Sale or Trade/Swap by Ausfish."
Rather than just send people straight to the post from the message index page, as the original post could be indexed by search engines and the redirect then gets indexed. People may have also bookmarked the original post. This way no matter which way people use to get to the post they will see the text saying it has been moved and will be able to get to the new location.
