Sorry Saphire not a good easter for the bunny/ :'(
They're where they normally are...languishing around the bottom of the ARL ladder ;D
Good luck,
Mike
Saphire,
Probably not politically correct to have bunny icons now. Maybe little bilby icons?
Roz,
Are there still many rabbits left in Northern NSW?
I grew up on a dairy farm at Rosebank. Used to love hunting wabbit.
Later on in life I used to go out near Texas for a feed. These days they're almost all gone due to calici virus :(
I know they do tremendous damage, but I sure do miss them :(
A while back I went into a butchers and asked if they had an rabbit. They said yes and dragged one out of the freezer. That'll be $22.00 he says :o :o
I said "what, for a pair???"
No, says he, that's each :o :o :o :o :o
DIdn't have rabbit for dinner
cheers,
Owen
Owen,
Yes, there are still some down here.
A few months ago, I was asked to go shooting up near Nanaglen, the bunny population in one spot needed culling. They were in very good condition and excellent eating.
North western NSW is a different story. Out on the brother-in-law's properties west of Walgett, you would be lucky to shoot one. The piggies make up for it though.

Ros,
I would love to try wabbit stew. The only thing is that I live in suburbia and the only rabbit we have around here are the hares that hang aroung the declining cow paddocks and sugar cane fields. The last place I saw a hare was at night in the car park of Griffith Uni Logan Campus. Ive never seen rabbits in shops around here. My stepfather used to keep them as a kid during WW2 and his parents would occasionally ask him for one when they ran out of food. He would then kill one butcher it and give it to his mum. Not sure but I think its still against the law to keep rabbits as pets in Queensland but dont quote me on this one.
Dasher,
Poor Bunny....That photos is getting put into an email and sent to everyone I know.
Cheers to you all,
saphire.
