Searching limitations

Back in the good old days, you seemed to be able to do a lot more with the searching - ie search between particular dates etc. But a while ago, the searching was dumbed down, and now it is hard to get access to some of the old threads.

Or am I missing something

On the search page you will see a section that says "This post was made in the last..."
Here you can select - Week, Month, Three Months, Year or All Posts.

Yes but ...

The number of search items is limited to 25, so if I'm looking for info on say "Signature", I can only get back to May 2006 at the earliest even if I limit it to Boating posts.

Just search the Subject only, this will get you back to on: 08. Jan 2004 at 15:55

Then you can search the Message Only.

Make sure you leave the box ticked that says - Display only one result per thread?
