Mark as read. HOW?

How do you mark as read?, Have tried but to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Steve, do we have to highlight something before we hit "mark as read"??? I dont seem to be able to operate it either.

Just click on the button. You will see that the NEW graphic is no longer next to posts that you have not read.
