It's the silly season again!
I usually spend up before Christmas, there won't be any boat trailers under the tree, I already bought that a month ago, that only means one other thing..... All the relatives I don't normally see during the year are coming to invade my house!!! Aaaaaarrrgggghhhh!! Can I go fishing instead?? ::) ::) ::)
No No, it's all good, Carols and spoiling my Kids, it's a good time of year to pay tribute to the greatest man who ever lived.

Over here El_Carpo the turkeys try to run us off the road especially during the silly season. :D I am looking forward to taking a little bit of time off work however. From the 25th until the 1st I have off so I should be able to squeeze in some fishing time in there somewhere.

Ho firgggin ho !
At least this year I haven't been asked by my son's school to put the Santa suit on and ride into the school yard on my motorbike. :o
Unorthodox I know but it was fun for a few years ;D
I am looking forward to this year as I have 3 weeks off, surely I can get one leave pass in all that time ? ::)

;D 5 minutes this year! My first bah humbug of the season! ;D ;D ;D
I suppose I do get carried away with my enthusiasm for all things Christmas. It's not my fault though. You see...................I've had.....a traumatic past............ and a secret identity. ;)
;) (Here it comes...this year's edition ::) )
One dark December 23rd, many years ago, a fat little boy decided that he hadn't eaten nearly enough Christmas cookies. He looked everywhere for more but alas, he had eaten them all.
"What am I to do?" he wondered, "I'm not full."
Just then, he caught a whiff of a heavenly aroma drifting on the breeze.
"Cookies!"
The smell captivated the corpulent lad and he immediately sought out its source. It lead to his neighbor's house. The neighbor's had cookies!
"How do I get in there undetected?"
The answer came to him in a flash. "I'll go down the chimney!"
He broke into the neighbor's garage and "clandestinely borrowed" their ladder. Getting to the roof was easy, so was entering the chimney. The passage through the chimney proved too difficult though. It was narrow near the bottom and our stout adventurer wasn't. He was well and truly stuck.
Hours passed. He felt the cold, cruel grip of winter's chill close in. Plus, he still smelled the cookies which was a real kick in the jinglebells at this point.
Just when things looked their worst, he heard a noise. A tiny sleigh bell perhaps? No, it was someone climbing the ladder.
"HO! HO! HO! Jeez is it cold out!" a voice boomed.
"Help! Santa? Is that you?" yelled our boy. "I got stuck in the chimney trying to borrow cookies!"
"What tha-? Hey, what are you doing kid? Here, grab my hand and we'll get you out of there!"
He was cold but he survived.
His rescuer whisked him straight away to the North Pole and before he knew it, his blind-fold was removed and he beheld an amazing site. Santa himself!
"We've got a problem. This kid saw me Santa."
"You idiot! I told you to be careful! This is it for you. That was your last mistake! You're fired!" barked the jolly fat elf. "Guards! Take him away!" and with that, two large elves dragged him away.
"And now, what do we do with you my fat little friend? It has to be something aweful, you cost me my last naughty list enforcer elf--Laffy."
"You're what? Laffy?"
"My naughty list enforcer. Every year, on the 23rd, I send out an elf to punch the nose of the worst kid on the naughty list. The worst of the worst. Santa has to send a message."
"The worst kid on the list lived next door to me? That doesn't make sense Santa. There aren't kids living there."
"Well, that's the worst part of it kid. You WERE that kid. Laffy was there to punch you but instead, he saved you and lost his job!"
"A Christmas miracle!," spouted the youth.
"No it wasn't!!! It's a horrible shame!"
"Gee, you're right Santa. Though I'm glad I avoided a punching, I DO feel bad about it. Maybe I can help. Perhaps I could guide your sleigh instead of Rudolph?"
"What?! No!!! That makes no sense! Instead, you're going to take Laffy's place!"
.......and so it was. Santa taught the boy the ways of the force and that chubby, little cookie thief became the best brat puncher Santa ever had!.......and how do I know? Because, I WAS that cookie thief! ;D ;D ;D
WORST.........STORY...........EVER! :P :)

I love christmas. Just don't like the next power bill. You see, I'm one of these lunatics who spend days putting up christmas lights so the space stations and santa have a marker for their navigation!! HaHa :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8-) :-? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-/ :-* :'( :)
I think I have about 10000bulbs up. The kids in the neighbourhood love it. They all come upour street, someeven leave cards thanking us.

That was awesome. I've probably got more lights, but I think I have something to work towards now. A mate of mine is an electronic engineer so I will send him the video to see what he can rig up for nest year.
There is already over 4hrs worth of setup. I'll try and get a decent photo to post, some of the sets are broken cause we had hail a couple of weeks ago and haven't had tome to get upon the roof.

Apparently the lights are therapy for my fishing addiction. This way I don't spend all my time and money fishing.
Although I think I need anger management therapy when bulbs blow andd I have to get up on the roof to fix them!!!

Imagine the poor bloke going to his mates place 3 doors down.... It's been years since he's seen his mate, and he is so excited. He turns into the street while remembering how they first met.... It was 8 years ago, and he had helped him through his first, and last, epileptic fit... As he was counting the numbers down and with only 3 more houses to go, that guy in that video turns on his lights!!! :o
