Govt Funding Approved - Great Sandy Marine Park

Below is a quote from the October 2005 Special Fiscal and Economic Statement released by Premier Beattie.


This Statement provides for a number of new initiatives to support policy priorities.

• $1.3 million over two years to establish the Great Sandy Marine Park, doubling the area of marine park in South East Queensland.

Seems like Beattie has his plans ready to go. It's about time he released them to the public.

Below is an extract from the Govt Website on the time frames for the Great Sandy Marine Park Legislation and zoning release. As you can see the drafting of the Legislation was mid 2005 so this is all but a done deal. We will know how much we have been shafted when it's eventually released.
