Derek
I suppose that one could be cynical about the proposals
My views are that Here is a forum to tell the Government its time they recognised the Recreational Fishing Industry
Its time the mindset in the Fisheries Department acknowledged the Recreational Fishery as a viable industry needing resources
The dept has in most cases failed to provide resources for the Tourism Industry
The resource allocation to the Recreational Fishery is now more important than ever before with the unprecedented growth in the coastal areas of Qld
Nowhere in the Plan for S.E. Qld is the issue of Fish resources discussed or boating infrastructure to meet the expected needs of the projected population
[list] Make the point that inshore netting is not an equitable sharing of the Fish resources near large centers of population or Tourist or Holiday destinations
[list] Is it appropriate that netting takes place in small rivers and creeks where one shot can take out a schooling for breeding purposes population

There are heaps of other issues of a specific nature but we got to remember the meeting is for 2 hrs only and that's it.
So to be effective its a bit like the old saying "stand up speak up and shut up" :)
Cheers
