Saw Derek Bullocks article in BNB on this area. Not really that far away and the chance of barra and jacks. One spot I am definately going for a camp soon. Thanks Derek.

;) How about them mozzies and sandflies!!!!!! AAAArgh!
Yeh, gotta hate that - gonna have to build a bubble made of mosquito netting or something that you can walk around in but still cast and a zipper that opens so you can bait up and unhook. I'm still trying to organise a car with aircon. :)

Hey Guys
I was serious about the sandies and mossies up at Kauri so make sure you are prepared for them.
Let me know how you go Luke. I have heard that the muddies are inproving up there so take some pots with you.
Derek
Hi Derek,
yes sounds pretty good. As for the insects I don't know, maybe a bath in citronella but won't notice them as much if nice fish on the line. Love a feed of muddie.
Cheers Luke

Little tip for people that come up in sores from sandfly bites. Start taking Vitamin C tablets a couple of days before your trip and it should make them a little more bearable. Doesn't stop them from biting but it also takes a little of the itch away.
;D

Hey Katrina, did you get up to Inskip on the long weekend? Interested in the feedback.
I'm keen to get up the inside of Fraser and fish some of those creeks but I'd be doing it blind.
All the best

;) Got up to Inskip, but guess what? The wind happened, the boat stayed on shore, and we consumed alcohol, and recovered and went for a 4wd expedition. I wish we'd gotten out for a fish, I only tried twice from the bank. It was rainy when we arrived, and after that cleared it was 30 knot plus wind. Lucky us hey!!! Had fun anyhow!

Hey Luke, here's a little tip for the creek. On any map of the area, you'll find a " anchor " showing a safe anchorage. If in a boat go a little towards the middle of the creek from that anchorage spot, and check out your sounder. A reef exists there and all manner of fish can be had at the right tides and time. Jack, Moses Perch ( fingermark ), Cod, Trevally, and the ever present flathead are around. Strange place. ???

Hey guys
100 metres past that anchor point is a creek that runs off to your left................has a yabby bank at the mouth and on the high tide can be a fantastic spot for big whiting.............as the tide runs down you can pick up some great flathead but dont stay too long or you will get stranded.
