:o Probably head up inskip way for a few days over the Aussie Day long weekend.. Wondering if anyone has been there and have any opinions. We are wondering whether it is worthwhile taking the boat up, or fishing up there is good enough not to require a boat? Any advice appreciated!!!! Thanks!

Hi Katrina
Have never camped at Inskip but have been there and fished a number of times. Great camping spot. Only problem is no showers or water. You have to come back to rainbow for both.
Take the boat for sure. There is a boat ramp at Bullovk Point........no relation.
You are at the bottom of the Great Sandy Straits and Kauri Creek is straight across. Good fishing from the shore as well both from the surf and the calm side.
Have a good time.

;) Thanks Derek, sort of figured we could probably launch the boat on the inlet side, rather than travel to the ramp. Bit of a hassle if we have to pull it up on the trailer every nite!

Katrina,
Did you get up to Inskip over the long weekend??? Been thinking of that trip myself and fishing some of those creeks inside Fraser.
Probably launch the boat straight off the beach into the passage - depending on wind direction.

;) Nice spot, just caught the really blowy weather, and the boat remained on the trailer. No one else there seemed to bother putting their boats in, so we ditched the fishing and and went up the freshwater track and had bit of a tour. Have to fish next time hey! Just gotta pick better weather! ;D
