G'Day,
I am looking for spots where I can go and enjoy a paddle and fish in the Freshwater around the Townsville area. Trips planned from a couple of hours to a few days.
I have a 4WD so access is not a problem as long as it is legal.
Thank you in advance to those who reply

Saw an article in the QFM about 2 months ago on the Herbert River - nice area but you need to be aware / careful of resident lizards - saltwater variety.
No chance in hell you'd get me in a canoe in any of those rivers unless it was well above a substantial barrier. That might seem a little over cautious but hey dead is for ever and there would be no way seen I'd ever want to be croc crap. ;D ;D
All the best
Dave

The canoe is 16 foot long and the wife fishes up the front. ;D
Plenty of crocs all around the areas we fish. We are fishing Hinchinbrook over the Easter break and there are plenty of big ones up there. We fish in a 12 foot Hornet, the wife sites up the front ;D
