I live in Gladstone Qld and want to go camping within a hour of here. Although places like willow grove look quite nice when I go camping I like to go somewhere without all the luxuries. If anyone knows of a place like this please reply.

:)Might be slightly further than an hour but ya could try Callide dam and chase a few Redclaw in the process or 1770 and just relax and bit of a swim.

Hi Angelena

A great little book available from you local newsagent should do the trick. Its called. "Camping in Queensland" published by the Queensland Government. It lists all National; Parks, State Forests and Water Reserves where you can camp. Some with and some without facilities. Good to see a fellow camper who likes other than a flash caravan park.

A great place just north of you is the Byfield State Forest and to the west is the Blackdown National Park.
