I think there was a similar post some time back on this one. One thing i do remember is take plenty of Bushman - the sandflies are NAAASTY.

Hello Rednut
There is a great camping ground at Kauri Creek. Take the Tinnanbar Road on the north side of Kauri, after a few k's down you will see a turn to the right with a sign that says "Boat Ramp". Standard State Forest Park fees apply. Facilities include gravel boat ramp, modern toilet block, barbecues and fire pits. Also one of the best fish cleaning tables I have seen. Yep, and watch those mozzies and sandflies.
Attached pic of the road going down to the camp ground with the creek in the background.
Cheers.

Thankyou for your reply. I think our party have sensibly elected to go for the houseboat option with three tinnies in an attempt to dodge the mozzies.
Hopefully we will get some rain before we head up in October to motivate the muddies; not that they need it. It really has been a special year for the crabs down Ballina way.
Regards and thankyou again

Not a problem mate. Check out my article in the July edition of Bush 'N Beach on my houseboat trip earlier this year. It was so good we have already booked for another week ourselves.
Cheers.
