exploring oz

i'm being retrenched in 15 months and would like to plan a trip around oz without any cities involved,has anyone any tips ,tricks or suggestions?

i am doing a similar thing next year as i also retiring. the only way to go is in a cvan 23'+ with solar power, with a back-up generator. there are so many place to stay away from the towns (not just cities) that we do not plan to stop. must have a boat on top and 4wd.
