G'day all
Any advice on camp beds ie what brands and styles are there on the market. This is talking about those luxury weeklong camps where the missus wants some sort of frame to lift the queensize airmattress of the ground and offer decent support. But as usual weight and size are factors when it comes time to transport it, has to be able to be moved by a sedan towing a boat and alongside all the other camping paraphenalia.
Cheers
Michael

MK,
Queen size camp beds are in short supply. There is a good single camp stretcher available at Campmart & the like based on the US Army sretcher. It has square section alloy legs & folds up in a jif. K Mart has some really great air beds (HUGE singles) with built in pillow for about $55. They have a really heavy duty vinyl type base with a velour topside. I have two & I have not had a better sleep drunk or sober.

Michael,
I've had a thermarest for nine years and i still reckon it's the best camp bed i've slept on. They've added a delux version since (thicker padding) and also a non slip surface. ;)

They are expensive compared to some others but they don't start to sag like some camp stretcher's do after a couple of years ::), seem to be a lot tougher material than other self inflater's (yet to get a hole in mine ;D), self inflate ;D, are quick and simple to pack ;D, provide insulation from the ground ;D and don't weigh much. ;)

Michael,

You could just do like I did at the M&G. Drink lots of green death and roll up on the ground - didn't feel a thing. ;D
