Hello everyone

Recently had some good responses to "Unique Camping Places" on this forum. Here's another one.

Often I get asked the question, "What is the best caravan park you have ever camped at" ??? ??? ???

Mine would have be the Happy Wanderer Village at Hervey Bay. The grassed camping spots are the best I have come across in a Caravan Park. Each one is seperated by a garden and most are big enough to get the tent, 4 X 4 and boat on. All are close to one of the best Campers Kitchens I have ever seen. It's rated 4 1/2 stars by RACQ. You can look at them on the net at http://www.happywanderer.com.au/park/ Also a gret place if you have a caravan or camp trailer.

What would be your best place??? ??? ??? ???

Cheers

Derek

For the record I am not sponsored by Happy Wanderer Village and they would have no knowledge of me posting this. It's just a great place to camp. ;D

Well Derek, you could not have picked a better camp ground.

I first found this place on the net. Booked and paid for over the net. Got to the place, and it was just like the pics.

Cheryl & Greg are fantastic, with nothing too much to ask of them. The facilities are the cleanest I have ever encounted. I have camped there, utilized their vans and units. I have actually visited the Village 3 times so far this year. Once for a week and the others for weekends. It IS worth the drive, just to be in H'bay and at the best Park in town.

I too am not sponsored by the park, but when you find a place as good as this, why not let everyone know about it.

8) 8) 8) ;D ;D ;D

You are right there Phill.

I have camped there on and off for about ten years or more and have seen it grow to what it is now and I am impressed.

By the way if anyone is looking at the photos of the grassed camping area on the net, the tress and schrubs in the gardens between sites have grown considerably.

Beware in winter though because those Mexican Retiress (Grey Nomads) invade the place for months on end and space can sometimes be short. Be sure to book ahead.

Then again, I really can't complain about them myself because I to expect to joing the Grey Nomads in the future. Difficulty I have is that it won't go grey.

Cheers
