Hey'
We do a bit of camping and I use my camp oven by diging a hole in the ground about 4" bigger than the oven and the same depth as the oven.
I then place coals from the fire in the hole and put the oven containing watever i'm cooking on top then place coals all around the oven and on the top.
Wat do you think of this method???

Way to go Jim. I do this as well especially when using the Bedourie. This is also good when there is a bit of wind. As the coals are down out of it they dont overheat.

Cheers.
