Hi All,
Thinking about going to Awoonga later this year and am looking into accomodation. Anyone stayed at Willowgrove on the Boyne River? Also the camp groung at the Lake may be a better alternative.
Questions for those who have stayed at Willowgrove; how far to the boat ramp on at Awoonga, facilities and ammenities, fishing on the Boyne River.
All experiences welcome.
Thanks in advance
Tim

I've stayed at Willowgrove several times. Is about 10km to Awoonga from there.
Nice place to stay & the Boyne gives a good alternative to the lake if its blowing a gale.
They've got their own ramp at the back of the park there. Not alot of water there at low tide but I've managed to get my 5m rig in at low tide & down to the deeper water, just be carefull of shallow water just downstream at the cattle crossing. After that its all pretty good. Have caught jacks & good trevally in the river the few times I've gone down.
There's some info & link here http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/awoonga.htm

Cheers,

Fitzy..
