Hi all,
Am a newbie here, and to Brisbane, and am looking to find some good camping spots that involve a little offroading to get too. I have several books, but they all seem to talk about the same tracks, and not many close to Brisbane.
The missus and I love a good drinking session, and so would love to leave on the saturday morning, offroad for a few hours, setup camp, and kick back with a refreshing ale in the afternoon.
I want to invite everyone to post all their favourite tracks/camp spots in their areas here.
P.S - Also if anyone wants to tee up a weekend away, send me a pm, and am sure we can organise something as well.

Dan,
I just bought a 4wd 2 months ago, and the first offroad trip I did was cooloola national park. There is a sand track that takes you through the forrest which I would rate medium, that brings you right out at Teewah beach. Camping from that point and north along the beach is brilliant. I will be doing it again one day, but dont ask me how to get there again as I just followed my mate [smiley=hammer.gif] [smiley=blush.gif]
Just do a search on Cooloola National Park and see what turns up. Great fun.
cheers

Thanks mate! Found some very cool info on the EPA website.
But surely other people have their favourites as well....
Catch the barge over to North Stradbroke Island "Straddie".
Beach driving-camping , good fishing off the beach and couple of local drinking holes as well.
Top spot.

Dan check out the old site called Unique Camping Spots (http://www.ausfish.com.au/cgi-ausfish/board/YaBB.cgi?board=General_Camping_Chat;action=display ;num=1045083361). You will find a few places in there.
Cheers

Mr Skippa and I have been to Noosa north shore a few times. I love it up there.
We're planning to go for a weekend at the end of the month again.
Cheers,
Mrs Skippa
